El Niño entered as roses. Oh precious promises,
oh precious pieces of rose petals.
You are my alphabet when all is said and ah…
You are my champagne. When I die you disappear.

nicely done….I tried transliteration with a few of Neruda’s poems..and I did not think anything worked….I looked back at Ode With A Lament ansd couldnt come up with much…soo congrats to what u have done with it….thanks for this

Gorgeous! Sounds are gorgeous. So are images. So is sentiment. I know I shouldn’t, but I read this poem as though it started, “The child entered as roses.”
